It was, indeed, an evening of solemn hymns, soft classical renditions, worship and prayers shared at the evening of songs and candle light to honour the late wife of the senior pastor, Mrs. Ibidunni Olajumoke Ighodalo at Trinity House Zion church in Lagos, who was said to have died of cardiac arrest three days ago.
The service, which went live on all social media handles of the church – @trinityhouseng on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook – kicked off at 6pm with a grateful number, “Great are You, Lord” orchestrated by the church band.
Other soul-lifting heavenly music rendered were: “In Christ Alone”, “Oceans”, “I’m No Longer Slave to Fear”, “It Won’t Be Long”, “Through All the Changing Scenes of Life”, “Le Yi Jesu Ko Se Ni Tan O”, “It is Well”, “Fear Him, Ye Servants”, and “Comforter” among a handful of others.
These renditions were possible with the presence of solo artistes like Christ Embassy’s own Raggae singer and Ibidunni’s favourite musician, Buchi, Chigozie and crew, Wale, Igeh, Alaba, Derby, the Trumpeter from Covenant Harvest Church, and the Trinity House Zion Choir and others.
Pastor Ayo Adeniluwa led the thanksgiving prayers from the Bible Psalms 89 chapter one to four. With this, the congregation said prayers of mercies for the life of the late Ibidunni while on earth, her children, her husband and her families.
“I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. May God comfort the family. For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.” he adds.
Pastor Tomi and another, however, led another Bible reading from same Psalms 32, 116 and 146, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.”
In the spirit of the service, the church announced that the burial of the late Ibidun, who died at age 39, would come up soon.
