The Lagos State Ministry of Health has discharged 55 patients from its isolation centres who have recovered fully from coronavirus infection.

This is as the number of confirmed cases in Lagos stands at 10,026, while Nigeria has a total of 24,077 cases.

While giving an update on its Twitter handle on Saturday, the ministry disclosed that the patients tested negative to the virus and have been reunited with the society.

“This brings the total recoveries in the state to 1,419. The 55 fully recovered COVID-19 Lagos patients include 16 females and 39 males including 16 foreign nationals.

“The patients: 14 from Onikan, 5 from Gbagada, 5 from Mainland Hospital, Yaba, 8 from Agidingbi, 6 from Lekki, 4 from Eti-Osa (LandMark), 4 from First Cardiology and 9 from LUTH Isolation Centres were discharged after testing negative to COVID-19.

However, the permanent secretary of the ministry, Olusegun Ogboye, on Friday said the total discharged cases in the state was 1,470, while the Lagos ministry stands at 1,419 as at Sunday.

Clarifying the discrepancy in figures, spokesperson, ministry of health, Tunbosun Ogunbanwo, said the figures on the Twitter handle of the ministry should be followed.
