Lagos Leads as States Domestic Debts Hit N4.1tn

The Debit Management Office (DMO) has, Monday, disclosed that as the 36 states domestic debts hit N4.1 trillion, Lagos state leads with a whooping debt profile of N444.22bn.

In its announcement, DMO noted clearly that total domestic debts for the 36 states of federation and the Federal Capital Territory is N4.1tn as of the end of March this year.

While Lagos leads, Rivers state follows quickly with a debt of N266.93bn. Also, Akwa-Ibom N240.03bn; Adamawa N101.58bn; Bayelsa N154.95bn; Benue N116.19bn; Bauchi N100.4bn; and Borno N83.38bn.

Others are: Cross River N165.91bn; Delta N230.75bn; Ebonyi N42.41bn; Edo N84.76bn; Ekiti N77.87bn; Enugu N62.98bn; Gombe N82.5bn; Imo N163.99; Abia N69.63bn; and Anambra N33.91bn.

Jigawa, N36.02bn; Kaduna N78.69bn; kano N107.75; and Katsina N66.16bn. Kebbi N69.26bn; Kogi N128.91bn; Kwara N62.89bn; and Nasarawa N60.99bn.

Niger N59.83bn; Ogun N143.53bn; Ondo N65.29bn; Osun N137.3bn; Oyo N100.59bn; Plateau N130.73bn; Sokoto N47.74bn; and Taraba N81.26bn.

Yobe N29.29bn; Zamfara N70.84bn; and the FCT N106.8bn.
