While churches set to begin worship in Lagos state on August 9 as instructed by the state government, House on the Rock Church said its Lekki premises, The Rock Cathedral, would not open for in-person services.

This announcement is coming after Mountain of Fire Ministry announced that its churches in Lagos and Ogun would reopen in September.

As announced in a statement on Saturday, House on the Rock stated, “While it is our heartfelt desire that the church is able to fellowship physically once again, the welfare and safety of our parishioners and all who attend our services at The Rock Cathedral remain our utmost priority.”

According to the church, it is reviewing its logistics’ processes to ensure the well-being of all who will be on the premises when they resume in-venue services. “Until then, we will continue to hold our church services, meetings and classes on our online platforms”.

This announcement is also sequel to the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s directive and protocols for religious centres to open across the state with 50 people per gathering.
