IT’S A NAOMI OSAKA VS JENNIFER BRADY SHOWDOWN AT THE SEMI-FINALS OF THE US OPEN
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Former 2018 US Open champion Naomi Osaka is still very much in it at the ongoing US Open as she has qualified for the Semi-final to face Jennifer Brady.

Brady would be making her first ever Grand Slam semifinal appearance after she cruised in to the last 4 beating Yulia Putintseva in a straight set 6-3,6-2. Osaka on the hand, defeated Shelby Rogers 6-3,6-4 in the last eight to set up the semi-final meet against Brady.

This semi pairing that sets ups Naomi/Brady on this side of the divide and Serena /(Azeranka/Elsie) on the other side is delicately poised to bring forth a repeat of the controversial final that played out two years ago between Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka which the later won.

Brady have gotten here having played some very eye catching tennis and have remarkably not dropped a set on her way to the last 4, and she would be looking to even extend her fairy tale run in the US Open even further and making it her first Grand slam final appearance by finding a way to go past Osaka when both players file out to play in the semi-finals on Thursday at the Arthur Ashe Stadium venue of the US Opens.

Osaka’s quarter final win was a straight forward one as she was weary of the threat of Shelby Rogers, a player who was making her first appearance at the US Open q- finals but has managed to beat Osaka in their last 3 previous meetings.

The 22 years old Naomi Osaka got the job done this time around and has set up a Semi-final meeting with the American former college player, Jennifer Brady.
