A young soldier has been seen in a viral video manhandling a bus driver for allegedly refusing to give him and his colleagues transport fare to continue their journey in Mile2 area of Lagos State on Saturday September 12.
Among the three soldiers dressed in their camouflage, the shortest one raged with an unexplainable urge to lynch the harmless driver who kept stuttering, “What did I do? I didn’t do anything” as seen in the video trending on Instagram.
While the irate soldier aggressively hopped on to the front seat where the driver was, he gave him a kick to the face with his right foot covered in his black boot. For a minute, it felt like Nat Geo Wild where a lion was attacking an antelope.
While he was at it, one of his colleagues refrained him from continuing, as his unprofessional demeanor was attracting crowd. The furious one kept panting as though unsatisfied in exhibiting his military strength.
According to an eyewitness and other bystanders, the uniform men boarded the yellow commercial bus from Mile 2 to Town Planning.
The traffic became rather stagnant and frustrating; hence, the soldiers decided to alight. However, they were said to have asked the driver for transport fare, but felt insulted when the driver declined. His refusal infuriated the short soldier, who unleashed his anger like a tornado.
He was alleged to have gone ahead to smash the side mirror of the bus.
Indeed, traffic and Lagos State may not part ways any time soon. While many have learned to adapt to this lifestyle over the years, most bus conductors and drivers have suffered losses as they often times refund fare to deserving passengers. This, however, does not include uniform men, who ordinarily do not pay for their fare, as they claim to be “staff”.Follow us on social media
