The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has calmed the tension as regards the tension between Obi-dient movement and their attacks on frontline musician and social advocate, Femi Kuti.
Obi assured the afrobeat musician, that his ‘Obidient movement’ will base its campaign on issues rather than personality attacks.
He said that his campaign would be based on everyday issues affecting Nigerians and Nigeria, adding that the recent controversy was not what the movement and his ambition stand for.
The Obi-dient movement last weekend, had attacked Femi Kuti on social media, threatening to burn down the Afrika Shrine for alleging that Obi-dient followers are Zombies. These generated a lot of reactions on social media.
Femi Kuti responded with a video debunking the story going round that he called Obi-dient followers zombies and berated the group for insulting him and his family, adding that he cannot be Obi-dient as he was unhappy about issues in tbe country to support any particular presidential candidate.
Moved to salvage issues on the attack, the former Anambra governor assured the musician when he visited, according to a video clip online.
Others present during the meeting include Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, among others.
