…Searching for missing person
Three persons have been rescued and one unaccounted for (missing) after a boat capsized due to water turbulent along Lekki Shoreline, Lekki Lagos on Tuesday June 23.
The unfortunate boating incident occurred along Lekki Shoreline, Ladipo Ladinwo Close, Lekki Phase 2, Lekki at 4:30pm.
Speaking, the DG and CEO Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, expressed that upon arrival at the scene, information gathered was that four adult males on a local boat expedition were inside the boat which capsized around 4:30pm due to water turbulent.
Oke-Osanyintolu says, “The quick collaborative effort of responders in the area was able to rescue three alive while one person is still unaccounted for – missing.”
He continued that the Hon. Com. MPPUD, MD LASWA, GM LSMTL and GM LASBCA were on ground alongside LRT responders at the incident scene.
While search and rescue operation is still on going, the LASEMA boss said that the rescued victims were provided with medical care and released by the Bravo team of LASEMA.
