Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has presented cheques of various sums to representatives of 40 selected communities in the state for the implementation of community micro projects.
Speaking at the event, Adeleke, who assured residents of an enabling environment for development efforts to thrive, said the initiative was part of the steps to revamp public utilities and infrastructure within the first 100 days of his administration.
Adeleke expressed satisfaction with the implementation of community micro-projects in the state, saying, “this development cannot come as a surprise to anybody because, since the inception of our administration, I have left no one in doubt as to my commitment towards the giant strive of communities.”
Speaking earlier, the General Manager of Osun State Community and Social Development Agency, Mrs Aderonke Abokede, said the implementation of the micro-projects would bring succour to the people and solve fundamental social and community problems.
She said, “Over 40 communities benefited from these projects and N518m was shared in varied sums to the communities to implement the projects.”
Speaking on the behalf of the benefiting communities, Mr Samson Adelomo, lauded Adeleke, World Bank and Osun CSDA for making the projects achievable.
