Following the recent increase in rape and sexual violence in the last few weeks across the country, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Lagos State Chapter has charged stakeholders to take decisive actions against the menace.
The association in a press statement the Chairperson, Adeola Ekine and Secretary Comrade, Lilian Ario, signed, they lamented that the cases of rape incidents had been increasingly alarming in the past few weeks.
For Ekine, it is imperative that relevant stakeholders take urgent actions to nip the menace in the bud.
“Rape cases have been on the increase. While we are talking about one incident, another is happening elsewhere. There is no better time than now to put in place adequate measures to end the incessant rape incidents,” she added.
The chairperson further demanded that the law enforcement agencies ensure that survivors of rape and sexual violence get justice.
