Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has started an investigation into the death of a lady allegedly killed by a stray bullet in Ojota, Lagos, during the Oodua Republic Mega Rally on Saturday.
Recall that the victim, simply identified as Jumoke Muriano Adeeko, was allegedly killed by a stray bullet when policemen fired gunshots to disperse the crowd that gathered at Gani Fawehinmi’s Freedom Park, Ojota, Lagos, venue for the rally.
The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo, who announced the order in a statement, on Sunday, said, A Coroner’s Inquest has immediately been requested in line with section 14 and 15 of the Coroners’ Systems Law, Laws of Lagos State 2015, to determine the cause and circumstances of death.
