The Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, presided over the Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) parley of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
It was gathered that President Muhammadu Buhari favoured Bello to take over the post from the embattled Chairman and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni and the latter was reportedly removed.
Bello arrived the party Secretariat at noon and was applauded by scores of party supporters and staff. He explained that there was nothing unusual presiding over the parley with his colleagues in the caretaker committee.
The Niger state governor was subsequently ushered into the National Working Committee (NWC) hall to await other members of the committee.
Among those in attendance were the Secretary of the Committee, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, the Women representative in CECPC, Stella Okotete, the Youth Leader, Ismail Ahmed and Mr David Lyon, Prof. Tahir Mamman, Senator Ali Abba, Sen. Ken Nnamani, Sen. Yusuf Yusuf.
