The South West zonal chapter of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) appealed to the Federal Government not to allow itself to be turned into an instrument of destabilisation over the controversy generated by the newly approved dress code for female police personnel in the country.
The PFN national vice president, Archbishop John Osa-Oni, made the appeal while addressing journalists shortly after the South West zonal meeting of the group yesterday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The PFN South West urged the federal government to step up its war against terrorism in order to guarantee safety of the lives of all the citizens across the country, rather than allowing leadership of any of its agencies to distract it with any religious matter that is capable of causing disaffection in the country.
Osa-Oni said the PFN’s position was premised on the need to make its stance known on some of the security, educational as well as economic challenges still bedeviling Nigeria and thought it wise to give a piece of its minds and chart a way forward for the country.
