The Lagos state police has arrested a 61 years old father, Eke Kanu, for allegedly raping and impregnating his 19 years old daughter (name withheld) in Ebute road, Igbogbo area of Ikorodu Lagos.
The father, who was said to have been having unlawful sexual intercourse with his daughter since she was a little girl, was eventually arrested on Friday June 26.
According to the Lagos Police PRO, DSP Bala Elkana, the Ikorodu police station received a complaint from a member of FIDA on June 12 this year at 3:30pm of the criminal offence of Eke to his daughter.
“The survivor (daughter) said that her father started having sexual intercourse with her when she was small and threatened to deal with her if she tells anybody.
She further disclosed that when her father discovered that she was pregnant, he took her to a chemist where she was administered some drugs and injection to terminate the pregnancy.
Elkana added, “The police has taken the survivor to Mirabel Centre for medical attention and forensic examination.”
The suspect has been taken to State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
