..As Minister of State for education is 1st to resign
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday ordered ministers with political ambition to resign immediately.
Buhari directed the ministers to resign their positions latest on May 16th.
He also asked those with other ambitions or contesting for various positions to resign.
The minister of state for petroleum, Timipre Sylva, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajuiba, the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi among others are expected to resign following the directive.
One of the presidential aspirants of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Emeka Nwajiuba, has resigned his appointment as the Minister of State for Education.
This is coming a few hours after a directive by President Muhammadu Buhari to members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) seeking to contest for any elective position to drop their appointments.
Nwajiuba, who is seeking to run for president on the platform of the APC, resigned from office on Wednesday in Abuja.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, confirmed the minister’s resignation to Channels Television.
