Nigerian musician and rapper, Panshak Zamani aka Ice Prince has been arrested for allegedly abducting and assaulting a police officer in Lagos.
According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed this on his twitter page, the musician with real name Panshak Zamani, was driving very early on Friday morning, without a plate number and he was stopped by a police officer only for him to deceive the law enforcement agent and allegedly abduct him and threatened him.
Hundeyin wrote that he was arrested and would arraigned before a law court today.
The Lagos Police spokesnan wrote, “At 3am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station. He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
It is not ascertained if Ice Prince was under the influence of alcohol to have allegedly decided to threaten the officer.
Ice Prince is a popular musician who hails from Jos, Plateau State and became famous under the Chocolate City Records, with songs like ‘Oleku’ more than a decade and half ago.
