The Lagos State Government has pledged to throw her back to the impactful Lagos Cultural Carnival hosted by Ikosi-isheri/ Magodo Council, and its able boss, Princess Abolanle Bada, for greater glory.
The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr (Mrs) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, made the promise with a statement from the office of First Lady of Lagos, while sharing the awesome impact of the classical event.
The colourful Carnival held last Saturday, at CMD Mogodo, Lagos, had the First Lady present as the Special Guest of Honour. She was highly impressed with the magnificent and flamboyant cultural displays in a rare united platform by different and diverse Nigerian ethnic groups.
“In a colorful display of culture through music, costumes, and dance characterised by glitz and glamour, the First Lady, Dr (Mrs) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu had the pleasure of gracing the 2022 Ikosi-Isheri Cultural Carnival organised by the Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA),” the statement reported while sharing Dr Sanwo-Olu’s personal accesment of the memorable event.
“It is commendable that the carnival, which was inaugurated in 2021, has now become an annual festival that promotes peaceful co-existence and celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the people of Ikosi-Isheri/Ketu-Magodo and indeed the state.
“We must continue to encourage the carnival and promote it as a platform to provide value to local businesses, support local no retailers and also stimulate foreign visitation to the municipality,” she further explained.
It would be recalled that the annual waves making two-day carnival featured topnotch entertainment by ace Nigerian entertainers in addition to the Cultural dances, chants, music, raffle Draw and fashion.
The outstanding artistes and entertainers who obviously enriched the event with their excellent performances included; King of Fuji Music, K1 de Ultimate, Obesers, Pasuma, Sir Shina Peters, Wasiu Haruna Ishola and raving Bella Shmurda, aka Newborn Fela.
Others are celebrated comedians such as; Lepacious Bose, Owen G, and comic actor, Saidi Balogun, among many others.
