Award-winning Lagos-based singer, Mr. Bankole Wellington, popular as Banky W, has urged entrepreneurs to remain positive about their ordeals, irrespective of the current Covid-19 induced hardship.
In a virtual church service of The Waterbrook Church, in the Victoria Island area of the state, the ‘Mr Capable’ singer recounted how God told him to stop speaking negative words about his business.
His message read in part: “2020 has been the most challenging year for just about everyone I know because of this (COVID-19 pandemic). A lot of our conversations have tilted towards the negative. I personally co-own two companies that I am grateful for.
When friends and families ask me how my businesses are going, I found out that consistently, my answers have been along the lines of, ‘It is challenging, we are just trying to survive’.
“The other day, a friend of mine, sent me a message asking me about my businesses. By default, I was going to go right back into that mode. I felt a check in my spirit. I felt like God was telling me, ‘You have to stop saying that, son’. He was like ‘you have to stop speaking negative about your business because of the circumstance you found yourself in’.
“2020 has been an interesting year. By interesting, I mean extremely challenging. We have been in this COVID season for a while now and the effect has been pretty devastating across the world. It’s been hard and difficult, and some people have lost their loved ones. We pray that God would give the strength and grace that only He can provide to the families that are left behind.”
