Some market women in Lagos State have taken to the streets to register their displeasure over the rejection of the old naira notes in the state.
In a video obtained by LAGOS TODAY on Monday, hundreds of angry women were sighted lamenting the difficulty the naira rejection has caused them and their businesses amid naira scarcity.
One of the market women, who spoke in Yoruba language, lamented that the money she took to the market to purchase her wares was rejected.
She cried out that the situation has led to lack in her home.
The women disrupted vehicular activities as they blocked both sides of the road.
Earlier, the Supreme Court nullified the ban on use of the old N200, N500 and N1000 banknotes as legal tenders.
The apex court, in a unanimous decision by a seven-member panel of Justices, held that the old banknotes should remain valid legal tenders until December 31.
It held that the old Naira notes should be used alongside the redesigned currencies.
However, the body languages of President Muhammadu Buhari and the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, have stirred doubt in the hearts of Nigerians.
