The Lagos State Taskforce has arrested thirty-eight recalcitrant suspects during a follow-up exercise and mop-up operation at the Lekki Coastal Road.
This was revealed on Sunday by the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye, who said the exercise was aimed to drive home its mandate of creating a serene and habitable environment for residents through the removal of shanties and criminal hideouts.
The operation which was carried out in the wee hours of Sunday lasted about six hours.
He said the makeshift shanties by the roadside were also demolished to ensure free vehicular movement along that route while appealing to roadside traders to move their wares to designated market complexes rather than defacing the streets and roads.
Jejeloye warned all squatters and unscrupulous elements who try to call the bluff of the Agency’s activities to have a rethink and turn a new leaf, or risk being prosecuted.
