Senator Godswill Akpabio, the preferred Senate President and his deputy, Senator Jibrin Barau are in a meeting with the All Progressives Congress, APC National Working Committee, NWC over the crisis on the leadership consensus zoning arrangement for the 10th National Assembly.

Around 12:55 pm, Akpabio, Barau and over 40 Senators arrived at Muhammadu Buhari House in two Coaster buses for the meeting with the NWC presided over by the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

The NWC last Monday announced the consensus zoning arrangements for the 10th National Assembly after consultation with the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other stakeholders.

The zoning arrangements however did not go down well with some lawmakers in the two chambers who have shown interest in the leadership of the legislative arm.

Following this development, the NWC met with aggrieved aspirants from the two Chambers of the National Assembly last week, promising  to revisit the zoning arrangements and advise the aspirants to hold fire.
