Residents of Yaba and Old Ebute-Metta Road areas of Lagos state are currently lamenting their undying search and struggle for portable drinking water, a situation that has lingered for months now as they call on the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to come to their aid.
One of its residents, SijuKaiya took to his Twitter handle, @sijukaiye25, to further express his anguish and accused the Lagos State Water Corporation for abandoning them.
Among their acrid experience is no tap water supply on Lagos Mainland, a basic necessity of the people and sole responsibility of the government.
The tweet, which called for help from Sanwo-Olu, reads in part, “This Suffering is too much for us to bear. This are basic amenity and government responsibilities. #NoTapWaterSupply in Lagos State Ebute-Metta, Yaba, Lagos Mainland.
The complainant, who further tagged @Mr_JAGss @Ishaofflcial @followlasg, urged various authorities of the state to look into the reasons tap water supply has been abysmal along the Ebute-Metta and Yaba service areas.
He pleaded, “No tap water supply in Old Yaba Road Ebute Metta,Yaba/Lagos mainland, in Lagos state generally for months now. This pain is too much.”
