Lagos State government has shut down two companies in Lekki due to noise pollution.

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) stated yesterday night that it is part of its ongoing efforts to combat noise pollution and other environmental violations in the state.

“The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has taken action by sealing off Olaiya Foods Catering Services and Bukka Hut of Lekki Phase 1 today (Monday),” LASEPA wrote.

The decision, according to the agency, was made as a result of both businesses’ persistent disregard for environmental standards and their contribution to noise pollution

Complaint submission

Meanwhile, LASEPA has asked that anyone with a complaint email the complete details to their DM on X and then fill out a complaint form via the link in their bio.

This is happening in response to an X user, Prince Iyke Etinosa (@princeezechukwu), who complained about a church programme taking place on Oloruntoyin Street in Bariga, Shomolu.

“The street has been on lockdown every evening for two weeks now. Once the church programme starts, no vehicle uses that part of the road and the people live with the nosie until it ends,” Etinosa said.
