A lady, Doris, was allegedly beaten to a pulp with bottles by a yet-to-be identified man when she and four of her female friends were chilling at Cruiser Hotel Idewu street by Wilmer bus stop Olodi Apapa Lagos on Friday July 17.
According to Doris, fight ensued at the scene when the man took her friends’ seats and asked his own friends to sit. When challenged, he was said to have rebuked them and said they were disrespectful.
Doris, however, was said to have stood up for her friends and told the guy he was in the wrong. In a fit of rage, the young man allegedly smashed four bottles on Doris’ face and head, leaving her face deformed and devoid of recognition.
Doris narrated, “He even hit my chest. I had to leave him before he killed me. Then the hotel management called the police.
The victim and perpetrator were, however, taken to Trinity police station on Industrial road after the management reported the rancour.
One of the female friends at the scene said, “After writing their statements, the police gave my friend police report to go treat herself”.
“Now the guy is threatening us because he is a cultist. The police wants to release him and allow him go just like that,” she decried.
Expressing her grief further, she adds, “My friend is in pain. She just got discharged last night, Saturday. We are confused. She has been spending money treating herself, going through pains. Her face is bad. The police are not helping matters at all”, she claimed while calling for dire help.
