The Commander, Nigerian Navy ship, NNS BEECROFT, Commodore Kolawole Oguntuga, has raised the alarm that Eleko Beach area of Lagos State is gradually becoming a spot for drug traffickers.

According to him, the NNS BEECROFT has intercepted over N254 million worth of cannabis sativa at Eleko Beach in the Lekki area of the state.
The seizure, according to him was made as a result of the quick response of officers of the command to emerging crime in the state’s backwaters.
Meanwhile, this is coming barely six months after operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted 8,852 kilograms of cannabis sativa at Eleko Road in the Lekki area of Lagos after over 30 minutes’ exchange of gunfire between the suspects and operatives of the narcotic agency.
