The Lagos State Government has announced six weeks traffic diversion at Kayode and Ogunmokun Streets in Mushin.
This is part of the ongoing construction of the Mushin Flyover Bridge for the Lagos Mass Rail Transit Project, (Red Line).
This is contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi on Thursday night.
“The diversion which will commence on 19th January till 29th February, 2024 will affect the following areas and alternative routes provided,” he said.
He said motorists on Kayode street moving towards Mushin would be diverted to Ikorodu road towards Jibowu onward Moshalashi (Empire) to connect Agege motor road for their desired destinations, while motorists from Majolate street (Kayode junction) could connect Matanmi Street onward Giwa Street enroute Ayonuga Street for their desired destinations.
Osiyemi added that motorists on Olateju Street would be diverted to Coker Street to link Agege motor road to continue their journeys.
The commissioner said motorists on Ijaye, Ogunsanya and Awoyejo Streets were to connect Adedoja street to link Alhaji Lasisi for their desired destinations.
The commissioner disclosed that Ago-Owu Street, Adeniyi Street and Lawanson Crescent would be cordoned off from entering Kayode Street.
He assured motorists that the Lagos State Traffic Management Personnel would be on ground to help them navigate their ways through the construction zones.
