Lagos State University (LASU) has secured National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation for 44 courses following an exercise conducted by the body in October and November 2023.

The Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, made this announcement in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, in Lagos.

Olatunji-Bello said that the result showed that 43 of the 44 courses assessed secured full accreditation, with only one course, ‘Computer Science Education’ getting interim accreditation.

“The result translates to about 99 per cent pass mark, which is another unprecedented record in the university’s recent history.

Olatunji-Bello listed the accredited courses to include MSc. Banking and Finance, MSc. Insurance, MSc. Marketing, MSc. Transport Management, Industrial Relations and Personnel Management Insurance.

Also listed are Management Technology, Marketing, Public Administration, Transport Management, Agriculture, Fisheries, French, History and International Studies, Philosophy and Portuguese.
