Université Général Lansana Conté (UGLC) Sonfonia Conakry, Guinea, on Monday defeated host, University of Lagos (UNILAG), 67-66 in Day 2 match of the ongoing 11th All African University Games (FASU Games) in the basketball event.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ongoing 11th FASU Games, tagged Lagos 2024, is co-hosted by UNILAG and Lagos State University(LASU) Ojo.

UNILAG was leading in the first quarter of the game before Team UGLC rallied back in the second quarter, winning the last quarter just by a point to finish 67-66.
Team UNILAG blamed the loss on a bad defensive approach by the team.

Daramola Michael, a Team UNILAG forward told NAN that the team would work on their defence going forward.
“We didn’t play good defence and didn’t manage our offence well and that’s what failed us and how we lost today’s game.
“Hopefully, we will come back tomorrow and play a better game to make all the difference
Michael assured that the team would do better in the next match.

UGLC forward and “Man of the Match” Keita Karfalla told NAN that the offensive strategy of the team worked for them.
“Our strategy was to be on the offensive and that was the reason we pressed from inside with little outside shots.
“I have faith in my guys, we have a good team,” he said.
