Dubai-based online classifieds giant, Dubizzle Group, has acquired Egyptian car marketplace Hatla2ee in a strategic move aimed at expanding its footprint in the MENA region. The financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.
Founded in 2016 by Samy Swellam, Hatla2ee has grown into one of Egypt’s most popular platforms for buying and selling new and used cars, attracting over two million monthly visitors across its website and mobile app.
Dubizzle Group, known for operating leading online marketplaces such as dubizzle, Bayut, and Drive Arabia, sees the acquisition as a step toward enhancing its automotive offerings in Egypt. By integrating its advanced technology and market expertise, the company aims to provide a more seamless experience for car buyers and sellers in the country.
Commenting on the acquisition, Samy Swellam, CEO of Hatla2ee, expressed optimism about the platform’s future under Dubizzle Group’s leadership.
“Hatla2ee has built a strong community of car buyers and sellers over the years. Joining forces with Dubizzle Group opens up new opportunities to enhance our platform, leverage advanced technology, and create an even better experience for users in Egypt. We are excited for what’s to come,” he said.
Haroon Rashid, CEO of Dubizzle Egypt, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the group’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the Egyptian automotive market.
“Dubizzle Group has already built a strong presence in Egypt with our leading platforms dubizzle and Bayut. Adding Hatla2ee to our portfolio means we can now offer Egyptian consumers the widest range of automotive services with the power of our cutting-edge technology,” Rashid said.
The acquisition marks another milestone for Dubizzle Group as it continues to expand its reach and influence across the MENA region’s online marketplace sector.
