Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) have on Tuesday rescued a young man, Orngu Paul who attempted to commit suicide in Ketu area of the state.
The agency’s patrol bikers were said to have foiled Paul’s suicide attempt on time while its paramedics provided him with first aid.
Although the reason for his suicidal decision is still unknown, LASEMA paramedics were seen attending to him.
This incident, however, is coming four days after operatives of the Lagos State Police rescued a 45-year-old man, Adeyinka Abiodun, who attempted to jump into the lagoon at Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, over his accumulated N500,000 debt.
While his debt was cleared by the Lagos State Government, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, implored Lagosians to always explore other means of addressing life challenges than resorting to taking their own lives, as suicide is never an option.
