The African Business Angel Network (ABAN), in collaboration with key industry players, has launched Africa’s Sports & Creative Early-Stage Investor Network, a pioneering initiative aimed at channeling angel investment into high-growth startups in the sports and creative industries.
As the largest pan-African network of angel investors, ABAN has partnered with TRACE, El Carnaval Limited, and Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors to establish the investor network. The initiative goes beyond financial backing, offering mentorship, skills development, and market access to entrepreneurs in sectors such as sports tech, entertainment, fashion, gaming, film, music, e-sports, and digital content.
Fadilah Tchoumba, CEO of ABAN, emphasized the economic potential of Africa’s sports and creative industries, highlighting the need for specialized funding that recognizes their value.
“Africa’s sports and creative industries have the potential to be economic giants, but they need capital that understands their unique value. The launch of this investor network marks a groundbreaking moment, bridging the gap between capital and creativity, unlocking new investment opportunities while strengthening Africa’s position as a global leader in innovation and culture,” Tchoumba stated.
With this initiative, ABAN aims to drive growth, foster innovation, and position Africa as a key player in the global creative and sports economy.
