A rally has been organised by Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC-USA) to welcome President Bola Tinubu to the United States for the United Nations General Assembly holding in New York next week.
The rally, which is scheduled to be held in front of the Nigeria House in New York, is being organised in collaboration with the various Tinubu Support Groups in the USA.
In a statement sent by one of the organisers of the rally, Khairat Animashaun-Ajiboye, the APC asked all Nigerians resident in the country to honour the Nigerian leader when he arrives in the country on September 29.
The statement quoted the national secretary and the national publicity secretary of the APC USA chapter, Feyi Tijani and Ismaila Maigyara respectively as saying that members of many support groups, and community leaders in New York and New Jersey are excited to welcome the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to New York.
The secretary quoted Tijani as saying, “APC-USA under the chairmanship of Professor Labinjo has a long history with the Commander-in-Chief of the Nigeria Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that dated back to Alliance for Democracy (AD).
“From AD we followed the President to Action Congress (AC), from AC to Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and from ACN to All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2013. Also, we have over the past 20 years worked closely with the President’s close allies and leaders like Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale, Senator Lawal Shuaibu, Hon Abike Dabiri, many past and current governors, and other leaders and members of the party.”
According to him, the APC-USA contributed immensely to the campaign and election of President Tinubu and had made commitments to continue to support his administration in all areas necessary.
Also speaking, the national publicity secretary of the APC USA chapter, Ismaila Maigyara said all Nigerians are invited to the rally in honour of Mr. President and welcome him to New York on Wednesday, September 20 in front of the Nigeria House located at 828 2nd Avenue, New York, NY, 10017 at 4:00 pm.
Maigyara called on Nigerians to come together to support the President and his renewed hope agenda which he believes will lead to the rapid development of Nigeria.
He warned APC leaders and members, as well as members of the public against unscrupulous, dishonest, and dishonourable individuals who are out to manipulate them and collect their hard-earned money by planting high-level deception to corporate bodies, individuals, and groups who unknowingly may fall for their tricks and deceptions.
Maigyara reassured that the rally in support of President Bola Tinubu has the necessary approval and permit of the New York City Police Department and was planned with good intent to promote the image and the unity of Nigeria.
Dr. Maigyara thanked Chief Emeka Molokwu, Hon Khairat Animashaun-Ajiboye, Hon Folashade Olumo, Hon Bisoye Oladejo, Hon Ololade Elulade (ELOT BABA), Prince Henry Adesanya, Mr Adeleke Lamoriyu, Mr. Ayo Olashege, Professor Adesegun Labinjo and Honorable Dele Alade for their work and support for the rally.
