Military personnel on patrol have foiled and arrested a robbery attack by a criminal gang of seven on Kingsway Road, Ikoyi after they obstructed free flow of traffic with a waste disposal truck to effectively carry out their heinous act.
According to an eyewitness, the yet-to-be identified armed gang of seven began to dispose vehicles and occupiers of their possessions at 7:30pm or thereabouts.
The source said: “A movie like event just happened now. A group of seven guys blocked kingsway road with a waste disposal truck like a few meters away from our ride. They began to rob.”
Continuing, he said “Unfortunately for them, thank heavens a military patrol was passing by opposite and saw them. In a commando style, they stopped and jumped all. Guns blazing …managed to apprehend them all.”
