Experts from the Child Protection Network (CPN) set to rescue a homeless teenager with mental illness (name withheld) who delivered a baby this week in Surulere area of Lagos State.
According to eyewitness in Surulere, the teenage mother lives on the streets, and has little control of her mental faculties. “The women of the neighbourhood where she has loitered have fed her and put clothes on her and the baby.”
“These are not all the care she needs. She and this baby need to be properly taken care of,” she pleaded.
Although she has no roof above her head, she is currently seen at 3, Idowu Randie Street, off Ayetoro Street, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos.
The Good Samaritan further called on all Nigerians and the government to come to the urgent help of the teenager and her new baby.
Reacting to her call, CPN Coordinator, Mrs. Ngozi Okoro directed their officers at Surulere branch to address the case.
