Philanthropist and business woman, Alhaja Sherifat Agbeke Odusanya, has peacefully passed away. The 83-year-old died on Saturday, November 19, 2022 and will be buried according to muslim rites today.
In a statement released by the family, Odusanya, popularly known as Alhaja Agboworin, lived a fulfilled life, impacted lives and built several mosques in obedience and appreciation of Allah.
The statement read:

“With a heavy heart but gratitude to Almighty Allah, we announce the passing of our matriarch, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Alhaja Sherifat Abgeke Odunsanya (March 20th 1939- November 19th 2022) fondly also known as Alhaja Agboworin (Amiral Iyonu Oluwa Central Mosques).
“It is expected according to Islamic rites that she will be laid to rest on Sunday 20th November 2022 at Vaults and Garden, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRSC) Close, Off Federal Secretariat Rd Ikoyi, Lagos at 1:00PM.
“She is survived by Children, Grandchildren and Great Grand Children.”
About Alhaja Sherifat Agbeke Odunsanya
Alhaja Sherifat Agbeke Odunsanya was born into the family of Agbede of Iga Saba of Isaleko March 20th 1939. She had 6 Siblings (4 Sisters and 2 Brothers).
After her primary school education, she went on to become a seamstress and later a prominent business woman who became a top distributor with all breweries in Nigeria as well as a major distributor for SONY Nigeria Ltd., as well as other companies.
Her union with Sulaiman Adekunle Odusanya is blessed with 5 children.

She retired from the business of distribution in 1989 and became a serial real estate developer and later aprominent member of Ansaru-Deen Society of Nigeria before she founded her own Islamic Foundation “Iyonu Oluwa Central Mosque”.
She was the Founder and Ameera of Iyonu Oluwa Central Mosque I, Agbado, Ogun State;
Iyonu Oluwa Central Mosque II, Agege, Lagos;
Iyonu Oluwa Central Mosque III, Agbowa, Lagos;
Iyonu Oluwa Central Mosque IV, Abule Egba, Lagos; and Iyonu Oluwa Central Mosque V, Omupo, Kwara.
In her later years she dedicated her life to the work of Allah and helped so many people with their businesses, creating various Islamic programs and sponsoring people to Mecca.
She will be sorely missed by her family and friends and has left a strong legacy in her wake with all her work and impact on the Islamic Community.
