GTBank’s deputy head of corporate communications, Idoko Negedu, has reportedly died of COVID-19 complications. The 40 year old is said to have died a few weeks to his birthday.

Before his death, he was also a senior staff of the Systems and Control Division for GTBank. He previously worked at Deloitte and Unilever Nigeria Plc.

A memorial page has already been opened for him on forevermissed, and families, friends and colleagues have been pouring their condolence messages on the memorial website.

Oklobia Emmanuel in his tribute stated, “What a life this life is, I remember all the nights of sharing memories outside our house in sheda. Full of life and energy, forever pressing on and encouraging. An amazing outstanding person you are and will forever live on in my heart.”

Adeyemi Austine posted, “Please accept my sincere condolences to the family of Negedu’s. Idoko was a remarkable man and everyone at CEA is better for having known him. For those of us that had the privilege of calling him ‘friend’ outside of work, we were humbled by his kindness and compassion to everyone around him”.

“He will be greatly missed. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and his family and friends during this difficult time.”
