Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has praised Dr. Fola David, a talented artist, for breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest painting by an individual.
David’s incredible artwork, “Unity in Diversity,” measures an impressive 1000 square meters, surpassing the previous record of 629.98 square meters.
The painting celebrates Nigeria’s diverse cultural heritage, featuring the unique attire, languages, art, and essence of the country’s various tribes.
Sanwo-Olu congratulated David on his outstanding achievement, emphasizing his dedication and creativity.
The governor also recognised David’s contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he served as a #COVID19Hero at the Onikan Isolation Centre.
The governor’s praise was echoed on X, where he wrote: “From the challenging days of the pandemic where he was a #COVID19Hero at our Onikan Isolation Centre to breaking world records at our Onikan Stadium (Mobolaji Johnson Arena), Dr. Fola David has been a beacon of excellence and service.

As reported by The Nation, the record-breaking artwork was created at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos over six days, with the state government providing support for the feat.
