The Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando, has admitted 100 Students into the Department of Nursing for the year 2020/2021 academic session.
The 100 students were drawn from 121 candidates that participated in the oral interview recently conducted by the college.
They are to undergo the Basic Nursing Programme (BNP) for the duration of three years to obtain the Registered Nurse (RN) Certificate.
At the stakeholders’ meeting organised by the College, the Provost, Mrs. Oyefunso Orenuga welcomed, and congratulated the students and their families.
She emphasised that the students were admitted on merit while noting that the new intakes should consider themselves lucky for being able to secure admission into the college.
The provost implored the parents and guardians to ensure their children and wards are well behaved at all times.
She further cautioned that the college would not condone any form of examination malpractices, stressing that nursing is a noble profession which frowns at indolence.
While reiterating the need for the students to take the profession seriously since nursing deals with life, Orenuga urged stakeholders to support the College in its activities and give the required financial assistance that will make the students excel as Professional Nurses.
