In a move to reclaim the city’s beauty, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps launched a crackdown on rail track vendors and environmental offenders in the Oshodi area of the state.
The state Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, revealed this in a statement and videos shared on social media on Wednesday.
He wrote, “In a continued effort to restore the aesthetics of the State, operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps #LAGESCOfficial earlier today cleared railway line in front of Arena and other parts of Oshodi, seized wares illegally displayed on the rail track.”
The video showed operatives clearing areas of makeshift shops and seized goods that had been illegally displayed on the rail tracks.
