The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers, rescuing a male victim in the Isashi area of the state.
The rescued victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was abducted on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in the Oke-Moro area of Isashi.
Explaining how he was rescued, the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hudenyin, said: “On August 27, 2024, at about noon, the Isashi Police division received a distress call from a concerned citizen that some hoodlums had kidnapped an unknown person at Okemoro.
“A team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer immediately raced to the scene, where one male victim aged 25 was rescued.
“The suspects are Edem Chucks, aged 24; Oluwatobi Adeniji, aged 23 and Emmanuel Ebere.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that after beating the victim, the suspects requested a ransom of N2 million. The victim’s mother paid through two different bank accounts.
“The suspects also collected N1 million from the victim’s bank account through mobile transfer. The victim was also dispossessed of his three Nigerian international passports and other valuable items. Investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to track other fleeing suspects,” Hudenyin stated.
