The Lagos Police command has distributed packs of bottled water to protesters after over five hours of intense demonstration aimed at expressing their concern over the state of the country.
The protesters, who began their protest, tagged ‘National Day of Survival’, at Ikeja under-bridge, later moved to Oregun and Freedom Park in Ojota.
At the protest venue in Ojota, two Police Officers were seen inside a white vehicle distributing packs of bottled waters which were hurriedly grabbed by the protesters.
The state’s commissioner of Police, Lanre Ishola, in an interview with newsmen assured that the law enforcement agency would approach the protesters in accordance with the law.
He added that there has not been any record of violence since the protest began.
“Within Lagos State, there has not been any case of potential violence,” he said.
