The Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation on Monday revealed that culprits of gender-based violence will henceforth be publicly paraded.
This was contained in a statement by the government, which revealed that the decision was reached during the commemoration of the 16-day activism against gender-based violence for youths.
The event with the theme ‘Orange the World, Stop Gender- Based Violence against women and girls now!’, was held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alausa, Lagos.
“The participants were urged to be change agents in rebuilding cultural norms and practices that spike gender – based violence within the society.
“Culprits of all forms of Gender-Based Violence, will henceforth be paraded publicly, as measures to curb such societal menace,” the statement revealed.
