The Lagos Emergency Management Agency’s (LASEMA) Response Team has extinguished a burning Oil Tanker loaded with 46, 000 litres of fuel, at the Ikeja area of the state.
No lives were lost nor injuries sustained, according to the Agency.
According to the Director-General, LASEMA, Dr. Oke Osanyitolu, the agency responded to a distress call today, via its 767/112
Toll-Free Line, and attempted to extinguish the fire from the burning truckhead for over two hours, in a combined operation with the Super Metro and support of men of the Lagos State Fire Services and other stakeholders.
He also said that the entire 46, 000 litres of fuel was salvaged intact.
The DG said that the gutted Oil Tanker was safely removed from the road to avoid any secondary incident, while also restoring the road to normalcy for vehicular activities.
