• Reopens boarding schools November 1
The Lagos State Government has on Thursday approved the re-opening of all schools across the state from Monday, November 2 this year.
This is coming as the state also approved the reopening of boarding public schools on Sunday November 1 this year.
The Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, announced this on Thursday October 29 in a media statement issued by the Head, Public Affairs, Ministry of Education, Mr. Kayode Abayomi.
In the words of the commissioner, 2020 has been an unprecedented year with the recent happenings that have regrettably led to frequent closure of schools with attendant learning disruptions faced by all children.
“We pray and hope that there will be no more disruptions in the academic calendar. However, the State Government will always regard the safety of pupils/students, parents and all staff as a matter of priority,” she added.
While recommending that when schools resume on Monday, teaching and learning should continue unhindered till the end of the term, Adefisayo implored students to take their studies more seriously in order to recover the lost period.
