The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), says it has beamed its searchlight on illegal recycling plants allegedly involved in the redistribution of expired medicament.
The move, it was learnt, may not be unconnected with the recent discovery of a recycling plant in Ikorodu where expired consumables are recycled and redistributed in and outside the metropolis.
Eko Trust had reported that four persons were arrested over their alleged involvement in the recycling of expired medical consumables in Lagos.
The General Manager of LASEPA, Dolapo Fasawe, said the move is to guide and regulate all business activities in the State.
She said the state would be swift and decisive in safeguarding and upholding the rights of all Lagosians over and above perceived economic gains.
