The Lagos State Government has revealed its new initiative to execute developmental projects through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) model across the state.
New projects envisaged under the scheme are located in Epe, Badagry and Lagos Island. The State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, said the projects would engender positive impact and improve well being of the people in the areas.
Some of the projects expected under the three plans include, construction of sport and recreation centre in Okokomako for sporting activities and community events along Jimoh street, around Okoko Police station, construction of industrial/residential schemes at west of Rangunshi East of Ketu, north of Oke-Osho, east of Imokun, and south of Ibonwon, north of Odosiwola.
Others are construction of five cemeteries at Odo, Ketu, Araga, Odo-Rangunshi and Owodeise, development of holiday resort at Refuge Island and Atlantic Coastline, development of 6,793.918m2 demolished Jankara market into world class multipurpose facility to accommodate a youth, exhibition and ICT centres as well as E-library, recreation area and commercial/cinema areas.
The commissioner said the Operative Development Plans (ODP) prepared by government is in line with the megacity status of the state and the imperatives of achieving a livable, organised, functional and secure economic hub.
