Lagos State University, LASU, in south-west Nigeria, has launched a one-stop mobile application that would scale up staff efficiency and improve their productivity.
The application, called ‘LASU Staff Corner’, was launched by the Directorate of Information and Communications Technology.
The Vice Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, who unveiled the application at the Senate Chamber of the University, said that the application is designed for members of staff to better understand the rules and regulations guiding the operations of LASU.
She explained that the mobile application will serve as a centre for information, policy, lasu laws, and guidelines for both the academic and non-academic staff of Lagos State University.
Professor Olatunji-Bello said “the APP serves as a virtual gateway to our vibrant academic community, offering a window into the heart and soul of our institution. The APP will include information and resources that embody our policies and operational principles as approved by law and as entrenched in our commitment to excellence in education, research, and community engagement.”
The VC, who is a Professor of Physiology, further acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the Director of Information, Communication Technology, ICT, LASU, Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin and his team for the continuous drive to ensure that LASU leads in flexible deployment of technology as a way of making work load less tedious.
She stated that the application can be downloaded and installed through the university’s website, www.lasu.edu.ng, and is available for Android users only.
The application launch was well attended by members of the management team, professors, directors, deans, academic and non-academic staff of the university.
