Moroccan logistics startup Colis.ma has raised $300,000 to strengthen its footprint in Africa and enhance its cross-border logistics services. Founded in 2022 by CEO Issam Darui, the company has quickly made strides, delivering over 50,000 parcels to more than 55 destinations across six European countries. This rapid expansion has driven a fivefold growth over the past year, resulting in a 380% surge in Annual Recurring Revenue for 2023.
Colis.ma primarily serves individuals with family ties in Morocco and Europe, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in industries like cosmetics, artisanal crafts, and organic products. The startup’s mission is to bridge the gap between Moroccan businesses and European consumers, making it easier for SMEs across various sectors to expand their reach.
The new funding is expected to support Colis.ma’s plans to expand its geographical presence and improve service quality. “We aim to become a leading logistics provider between Africa and Europe, leveraging innovative technology to transform the sector,” said Darui.
Prior to this funding round, Colis.ma received $50,000 from The Baobab Network after joining its accelerator program and later secured a $45,000 grant in February 2024.
Colis.ma operates in a competitive market, with other Moroccan logistics startups such as Logidoo, which has been providing logistics services and real-time parcel tracking since 2019. In early 2024, Logidoo raised $1.55 million in seed funding to grow its market share and received an additional $50,000 grant in July to develop AI solutions tailored to Africa’s logistics industry.
As Colis.ma positions itself for further expansion, the startup aims to play a pivotal role in connecting African businesses with international markets, leveraging tech-driven logistics solutions to reshape the African-European trade corridor.
