… To maintain good working relationship

The Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Police Force have partnered in their bid to beef up security for the safety of lives and property of citizens across the country.

This was divulged in a media statement the Police Public Relations Officer Zone 2 Command, Onikan, DSP Hawa Idris-Adamu, issued Friday June 26 in Lagos.

According to the PPRO Zone 2, the newly appointed Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Naval Training Command, Rear Admiral Frederick Ogu, paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu in charge of the Zonal Command where the proposed collaboration was discussed.

The statement reads: “The FOC said the reason for the visit was to improve sustenance of the existing synergy between the agencies.”

As stated in the statement, Iliyasu assured the Nigerian Navy that the police was ready to synergise with the Nigeria Navy in combating crime and criminality in the area.

It further noted: “The best practices using community policing strategy will be deployed as well as maintaining a harmonious working relationship with the Nigerian Navy.”
