The National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) has, Friday, offered to train personnel of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) on disaster management and improved response time.
This is as NEMA also offered its unwavering willingness to pull resources together with LASWA for a more effective outcome across its waterways.
The two bodies discussed issues related to disaster management and waterways safety in the state during a visit by the officials of NEMA to LASWA on Friday.
According to NEMA Zonal Director, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, it was resolved at the meeting that all agencies of government shall be on the same page on information dissemination to avoid giving conflicting account of events to media houses.
LASWA is an organisation responsible for regulating, developing and managing all aspects of the waterways in the state.
It is charged with the responsibility of coordinating and managing reforms necessary for the long term growth and development of water transportation in Lagos.
